The great wind returns
From the journal, 2/25/2009:
Amazingly, I have just dreamed of Methuselah. He talks to me and some others as if we are children. He shows us the Indians driven ahead by European colonization in America, then the wars raged against them by US forces. Then he says, "They thought the wind that drove their enemy before them was raised by them, was powerful because of them, and was for their glory. But the inheritors of that generation will soon see that the wind sowed a different seed, not of glory, but of their own destruction. The wind is returning, it is the same wind, and they do not know it. I know this because I am Methuselah, and I have seen it."
Comment
I have very little to say about this dream apart from this: it was very realistic. Methusaleh spoke with confidence, gravity, and sadness. Within the dream, I had no doubt that what he said was true.
Now that I’m awake, I don’t have an opinion. We’ll see what happens.
